The One Picture a Week (PAW) was initiated by Kyle Cassidy to force himself to shoot pictures
instead of fondling his cameras. He figured that he would get at least one decent frame out of each roll. ***
When I stumbled upon his web site a couple of years ago I thought "here is one heck of a worthy idea",
but my disposition to create a web site was almost nil, although I had been shooting pictures all the time.
For some months now, I too have been applying myself to shoot -and process- at least one roll per week.
Most of the time these rolls hold nothing but snapshots. Even so, they host memories.
Since I shoot a variety of formats and media, one "roll" may be as many as 44 images,
which is the case of digital images on a 128Mb card, or 36 frames in a 35mm magazine,
12 frames when I shoot 120 rollfilm, 24 if 220 and 4 cut film sheets
when I take out the 4x5" camera to dust the mildew.
In all cases, I strive for at least one frame that can be shown,
although -alas! it is not to be always so.
I shall try to upload to this page, during the following months, at least one picture per week,
and hopefully some of them will include links to other images from the same roll.
I pray you won't judge this a waste of time.
*** Kyle Cassidy contacted me to tell me that he tries to get one good frame a week not necessarily one out of each roll,
I stand corrected and applaud that he shoots more than one roll per week although I doubt he gets only one good photo out of them.
I wish I would do that too.
